Angela Reiswig,Owner
Bachelor of Music - Vocal Performance

Angela has a vocal performance degree from New Mexico State University where she played lead roles with the Doña Ana Lyric Opera. After a detour into corporate America supervising and managing medical offices for 15 years, she found her way back to her first love: music and singing.

In addition to her Bachelor’s of Music degree, Angela has studied with local master teachers Peggy Norcross and Linda Brice. She has also studied with Nancy Olson Chatalas and Inci Bashir-Paige. It's through this intense training in vocal technique and her genuine love of teaching music she is able to connect with her students and bring out the best of their voices, performances, and souls. Her performance background is in opera, music theater, jazz, symphony choirs, church choir and worship teams. She is on the faculty at Rose City Music Academy, and cantors with All Saints Parish in southeast Portland.

The Studio and Teaching Philosophy

Angela opened Animaté Voice Studio in 2010, offering classes and private lessons in voice for children, teens, and adults. “I truly enjoy teaching children, helping them develop the skill of performing, and guiding them to realize that as they learn to accept their voices, they learn to accept themselves.” She loves helping teens and children find their unique voice. Angela also enjoys teaching adults of all skill levels in a variety of genres, including classical, music theater, jazz, and pop.

Angela is passionate about the soul’s connection to singing, the singer’s job as a storyteller, and uncovering and affirming the innate beauty of each individual voice. She balances the soul-connecting work of singing with musicianship essentials such as ear training and theory. She feels like a fellow traveler with all her students, believing that at any level the honesty of the offering is paramount.
